At LCA International Preschool (LCA) we immerse the students in English. Fully immersing the students in english is a great way to teach students to become accustomed to a second language. In 1960`s Canada where English was the main language, students begun being taught French through this method and from there on it has been being used to teach such languages as English, Spanish, Japanese etc.
Here at LCA our classes are conducted almost entirely in English so as to immerse the students perfectly in the language. To do this we need not only good teachers who understand LCA`s philosophy but teachers that are also English speakers. LCA was able to find wonderful teachers with experience in education in their own countries and with this we are now not only seeing great results in the students English but also in their other studies including manners and morals which are all needed in ones education.

At LCA we have prepared a fun curriculum for the students so they can enjoy each day of learning. We have taken the good points of both Japanese and Western education and mixed them together to teach students how to succeed in an International environment. The curriculum is filled with such activities as Math and Science as well as teaching the students about society and how to get along with their friends. We also have discussions in English on a daily basis. Physical Education (PE) which is done outside on our oval where the students have enough room to run freely is one more fun part of school life.

The students can not only stretch their legs on our 1200 square meter oval but also enjoy various other activities at LCA. We have a garden for growing fruits and vegetables, a soccer area for playtime fun, a hill where students can make rivers and lakes freely, a tree house full of dreams, and a large sandpit for everyone to enjoy! The students eyes light up when its time to go outside to play!!

In each class there are 2 English speaking teachers. There is also a specific teacher for PE classes which is also a native English speaker. At LCA there are 13 teachers from such countries as America, England, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Philippines, Cameroon, Ecuador etc. Students have a good chance to learn not only the English language but also about the culture of many countries around the world.

In the classroom the students are often asked the question "why?". The students then think carefully about their answer and tell it to the teacher who then responds with a lot of praise. Continuing this day by day soon leads to great improvements in the students thought process.

At LCA arguments, fights and trouble also become a time to learn. Students are taught not only how to express their own feelings, but also to listen to or imagine how their friend's feel about the problem. Having the power to communicate in such situations is a valuable thing.
